Question from Robert Cooke: What does the administration need to do in order to attract the best athletes to FAU? When do you see the school being on par with the likes of USF, UCF etc?
A: Each day FAU, the youngest of the schools you mentioned makes towards those goals. If you follow our teams we perennially defeat UCF. This season the cross country team has defeated our just been edged out by UCF. Once track facilities are in place you will be asking USF and UCF a similar question about FAU.
Question from Francis Korir: I am a transfer student and would like to ask if the school provides cross country and track scholarships. Does the school provide apartments for student-athletes?
A: FAU does offer scholarships. As a transfer we would need to follow NCAA rules and request permission to talk to your previous school should you pursue your career as a cross country or track athlete.
Question from Bob Cohen: What are your expectations for the coming season?
A: I would like both teams to finish in the top-five in the conference. Should the runners continue to have success, these goals may be adjusted to meet their individual best times.
Question from Carol Cohen: Do you enjoy coaching over working in academics?
A: Yes, I can work more one on one and see the direct impact that I had worked so hard to help other coaches achieve. The result is often more immediate than waiting until the end of the term, however both still rely heavily upon the ability and work of the student.
