JACKSONVILLE, AL - Florida Atlantic University finished sixth at the Amoco Ultimate-Young Oil Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, AL. The Owls put together rounds of 296, 295, and 298 to finish with an overall total of 889. FAU finished five strokes behind South Alabama for fifth place while Austin Peay won the tournament with an 865. The Owls finished second among six A-Sun teams at the 17-team competition.
Individually, Matt Anderson and Scott Kennedy led FAU with a three-round total of 222 which tied them for 20th. Kennedy led FAU in Tuesday's final round with a one-over par 73 on the 6,860-yard Silver Lakes Golf Course. The Owls used a balanced attack in the final two rounds, with all ten scores ending up between 72 and 77.
Florida Atlantic next takes part in the Atlantic Sun Conference championship April 22-24 in Deer Island, FL.
