Women's Basketball to Host EMU

The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team returns to action Thursday, December 19, when it hosts Eastern Michigan University. The game begins at 7:00pm at FAU Gymnasium in Boca Raton.
FAU enters the game 0-7 and is coming off an 86-61 loss at Miami on Monday night. Senior forward Tamica Pierce leads FAU with 13.4 points per game. She is averaging 19.0 points over the past two games. Junior guard Janka Deckerova, who scored a season-high 18 points against Miami, is averaging 14.5 points over the past two games and has seven three-pointers during that stretch,
EMU brings in a 2-5 record and has not played since December 11 when it lost on the road to Illinois, 65-57. Sophomore guard Ryan Coleman leads the Eagles with 15.0 points per game.
This is the first meeting between the two schools. Tickets are available at the door. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for those 18 years old and under. However, admission is free to those who bring an unwrapped toy to the game. The "Toys for the Game" promotion will benefit the Wayne Barton Study Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare and education of children in need.
There is no radio or internet broadcast of the game.
