Macon, Ga. - Florida Atlantic University can add another accolade to the women's soccer team as keeper Molly Keating was awarded the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player-of-the-Week by the conference office Monday afternoon. This is the second time Keating earned the award this year and fourth in her career.
The junior keeper from Inverness, FL., posted 180 minutes of scoreless soccer in two big A-Sun conference match-ups. Keating recorded six saves in a 1-0 win over Samford that helped secure a bid to the 2002 A-Sun Tournament. Keating also had two saves in the 3-0 win over Stetson. Keating's two shutouts on the week raised her season total to four, third in the conference, and career total to 17. Keating also lowered her goals against average to 1.07, good for 5th in the A-Sun. Keating has not allowed a goal in her last four starts and has allowed only three goals in eight conference matches.
