Julie Ferguson Wins Atlantic Sun Honors

Macon, Ga. - Florida Atlantic University's Julie Ferguson was awarded the Atlantic Sun Women's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week by the conference office this afternoon after a record setting weekend for the freshman. This is the second time in three weeks she has won the award.
Ferguson, a Glasgow, Scotland native, led the Lady Owls to two wins against conference opponents as FAU's record improved to 5-1 in the A-Sun. She opened the weekend with a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win over Troy State. Ferguson ended the weekend owning four Florida Atlantic program records after a 7-0 win over another conference opponent, Mercer University. Ferguson set records for goals scored in a match (4), assists in a match (3), total points in a match (11) and most assists in a season (11).
Ferguson, who has played in only 10 matches this year, is now ranked first in the conference for assists (11) and total points per game (2.5) as well as fourth in the conference in total points (25).
Florida Atlantic starts a five game home stand where the team will play four conference opponents. The Lady Owls take on Stetson University, Wednesday, October 16th at 7:00 pm at FAU Field.
