Florida Atlantic University's men's swim team defeated Syracuse (144-90) and Miami (129-106), Saturday afternoon, while the women's team were victorious against North Florida (169-54), but were overtaken by Syracuse (137-100) and Miami (127-106) in a close contests.
FAU's men were able to win two relays, 200 Yard Freestyle and 200 Yard Relay, on their way to the victory. Individually, Kevin Milak took first in the 400 Yard IM (4:05.2) followed by Alex Broner (4:07.31) who was able to take second. In the 100 Yard Breaststroke, the men again dominated with a one-two finish. Antony Hine controlled the event (:56.46) while Brett Lummis (:57.72) narrowly finished second.
The Lady Owls were led by Andrea Van Der Platts who placed first in both of her events, 1650 Yard Freestyle (17:20.05) and 500 Yard Freestyle (5:03.47). The woman finished strong in the 100 Yard Backstroke and earned a second and third place finish by Kelly Pancake (:59.98) and Tessa Solomon (1:00.12), respectively. Gresin Pizarro led FAU in diving by placing first in 3-Meter Diving.
This was the final home meet of the season for Florida Atlantic which honored three seniors, Kristina Kennedy, Gresin Pizzaro, and Meri Souders.
