With one day of competition left in the Georgia Invitational, the Florida Atlantic University swim teams are currently in seventh and eighth place. The men have 191 points and are 37 points behind Georgia Tech, while the women are in eighth with 81 points.
Marina Mulyayeva was the only woman to compete in the finals today as she placed fifth in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 55.67. Her time improved 1 ? seconds over her previous season's best.
The men had three individuals place in the finals along with the 800 yard freestyle relay, which placed eighth with a time of 6:53.96. The 100 yard breaststroke was a strong event for the Owls as they took third and fourth. Travis Howard finished with a time of 55.23, while teammate Alex Berger touched the wall in 55.33.
Rich Marzonie placed seventh in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 51.25.
The Owls complete the three day event today.
