BOCA RATON--- - Florida Atlantic University's pool was busy Saturday with a 13 team, 32 event meet. On the women's side, Oakland ran away with the meet tallying 660.50. On the men's side, Purdue University captured led the day with 940.50 points.
FAU turned in a solid day with a third place women's performance (609). The men finish second (613). More importantly, the second place men's finish placed them above conference foe Oakland. Both the men's and women's teams will face Oakland when OU host the 2001 NIC Championships.
Individually, Andrea Vander Platts won the 1000 yard free (10:22.24) and Gresin Pizarro won the 10 and three meter dive event. The men were led by Antony Hine who captured the 100 and 200 yard breastroke, Dariusz Szymanski who captured the 200 yard butterfly and Matt Streicher who won both the 10 and three meter dive event.
