Boca Raton, FL - The cold weather was not enough to keep the swimmers out of the water Friday afternoon as the Florida Atlantic University women split with the University of Florida and Indian River Community College, while the men fell to the same two opposing teams.
The FAU women were lead by Andrea Van Der Plaats who placed first in the 500 Yard Freestyle and narrowly missed the sweep in the distance events but was able to pick up second place points in the 1000 Yard Freestyle. Fellow teammate Kelly Pancake was able to pick up a second and fourth place finish in the 100 and 200 Yard Backstroke, respectively.
Atony Hine led the way for the FAU men's sweep of the 200 Yard Breaststroke where they were able to pick up the one, two, three finish. Dariusz Szymanski and Travis Howard rounded out the top three. Hine was able to add to his total points by picking up another first place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. In diving, Matt Streicher placed second in the men's three meter diving.
