Florida Atlantic University (1-1) began its season Friday afternoon with a victory over Charleston Southern at the FSU Tournament in Tallahassee. The Lady Owls won 15-8, 15-11, 15-11. FAU then fell to host Florida State, Friday evening, by a 15-7, 15-1, 15-12 score.
In FAU's victory over Charleston Southern, Ashley Bodily led the Lady Owls with 15 kills while Danyielle Smith added a team-high 30 assists and nine digs. Lori Lombard had nine kills and eight digs.
Against FSU, the Lady Owls took an early 5-0 lead in game one before FSU battled back to win 15 of the final 17 points. In game three, FAU took an 8-3 advantage before FSU finally won it 15-12.
FAU concludes play at the FSU Tournament Saturday with matches against Southern Missippi and Illinois.
