Lady Owls fall to UCF

ORLANDO, FL -

Florida Atlantic University was defeated by the University of Central Florida, Tuesday night, 3-1, in Orlando.

game scores were 15-2, 15-8, 14-16, 15-10. the loss drops FAU to 4-12 overall. The match was not designated as a Trans America Athletic Conference match so FAU remains 1-0 in TAAC play.

UCF (7-7) controlled the first two games before FAU jumped out to a 9-5 lead in game three, UCF then won nine of the next 10 points to lead 14-10 before FAU staged a rally. The Lady Owls fought off two match points while winning the last six points of the game and forcing a game four.

Tied at 10 in game four, the Golden Knights won the final five points to take the game and the match.

Ashley Bodily led FAU with 14 kills and 14 digs. Lori Lombard added 11 kills and 11 digs. Stacey Carlson had 11 digs while Kari Dailey had 10. Danyielle Smith finished with 34 assists and a match-high five aces.
