Florida Atlantic University's swimming and diving teams opened their seasons Friday afternoon with a dual meet against visiting Florida State.
The Fau men were defeated 190-113 while the FAU women fell to FSU 183-95.
On the men's side, FAU was led by Dariusz Szymanski who finished first in the 1000 Free, 500 Free, and 200 Fly. Teammate Antony Hine won the 100 Breats and 200 Breast. In addition, Carl Gardmark won the 400 IM while Matt Streicher won the 3M diving.
Andrea Van Der Plaats led the FAU women by finishing first in the 500 Free and 1000 Free. The Lady Owls' Kristina Kennedy won the 400IM.
