MACON, GA -
Florida Atlantic University soccer players have won three of the four weekly honors passed down by the Trans America Athletic Conference. On the women's side, it was a clean sweep for FAU as Lisanne Peart was named offensive player-of-the-week while Molly Keating was named defensive-player of the week. The Owls' Federico Santana was named the TAAC's men's offensive player-of-the-week.
For Peart and Keating, they became the first players in the TAAC this season to receive the honor for a second time. It also marked the first time this year the same school had two players honored in the same week. Peart, a sophomore transfer from St. Thomas University, scored all three goals in FAU's 3-0 victory over Samford on Saturday. Keating, a freshman goalkeeper, recorded back-to-back shutouts for the second time in three weeks. She added to her team record of seven shutouts on the season.
The FAU women's soccer team is having its best season with an overall record of 10-4-0 and 5-2-0 in the TAAC. They are currently second in the conference.
Santana also registered a hat trick as he scored three times in FAU's 4-1 victory over Campbell last Wednesday. FAU is currently 7-5-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the TAAC, which ties them for third. The team plays Tuesday afternoon at first-place Jacksonville.
