Swimming 1995 - 1999Â
Olympian Oliver Agh swam for Florida Atlantic University from 1995-99. Agh was instrumental in FAU's emergence as one of the top Division I swimming and diving programs in the country. The Hungarian native served as the Owl's team captain in both 1998 and 1999. Agh was one of two individuals that represented FAU at the program's first NCAA Division I Championship meet, leading the Owls to a top-20 finish nationally. Agh was a two-time team MVP, breaking and establishing a number of school records, including the 1,000m freestyle (9:17.51, 1998), the 1,650m freestyle (15:34.03, 1996) and the 200 backstroke (1:45.68). He captured eight National Independent Conference Championships. Agh swam for the Hungarian national team from 1989-2000, participating in both the 1992 and the 1996 Olympic Games where he was a finalist in the 200 backstroke. He swam in two European Championships ('93 Sheffield, UK and '95 Wien, Austria), '94 World Championships (Rome, Italy), and two World University Games ('97 Sicily, Italy and '99 Palma de Mallorca, Spain). At the time of his induction, Agh also served as an FAU Assistant Swim Coach.
