The was the only head coach in FAU softball history until her passing in 2022, Joan Joyce has helmed one of FAU’s most consistent programs and has guided the Owls to more than 1,000 wins, 12 conference championships and 11 NCAA Regional appearances. She has been named conference Coach of the Year eight times, coached five conference Players of the Year, four All-Americans, three conference Pitchers of the Year, two conference Freshmen of the Year and an Academic All-American. In 2016, FAU made its 11th NCAA Regional appearance, while earning Conference USA Coach of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Freshman of the Year recognitions, and she repeated Coach of the Year honors while winning the C-USA title in 2018. Her FAU induction will be the 20th Hall of Fame of her career. Her most recent milestone wins include No. 800 (March 20, 2015 vs. Florida A&M), No. 900 (March 19, 2017 vs. WKU) and No. 1, 000 (March 18, 2022 vs. North Texas).
