BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University senior Ivone Martinez was named Conference USA Setter of the Week for the third time in a row, the league office announced on Monday. It is the fourth time in her career that Martinez has won the award.
The senior from Mexicali, Mexico averaged 42.7 assists and 9.3 digs per match while leading FAU to a sweep of the Owls Classic over the weekend. Martinez posted at least 40 assists in all three matches, including the 27th double-double of her career vs. North Florida. She was named Tournament MVP as the Owls extended their winning streak to nine matches in a row. It's the program's longest win streak since 2005.
