Football Begins Classes, Celebrates Hearns Being Awarded a Scholarship

For Tickets Call 1-866-FAU-Owls

Florida Atlantic University's football players arrived at the Tom Oxley Center Monday morning, something they have done throughout camp. The exception was that following Monday's practice, the Owls began their academic schedule.
Monday's Highlight
The highlight of Monday's practice didn't come until late in the 11 a.m. hour when the final whistle for the day was heard, drawing the players together for the final words by Head Coach Lane Kiffin. Kiffin's remarks began with a dress down for a team leader that does everything right. It was a shock to the squad that really looks up to senior running back Gerald Hearns, who does everything asked and then some. Hearns accepted Kiffin's words that he had failed. Hearns was then asked to read a note which was described as being left by the yoga instructor. The note read: "You are on scholarship."
