BOCA RATON, Fla. –
Michael Graffin and Alvin Hines II have been added to the Florida Atlantic University athletics staff, announced Brian White
, FAU's vice president and director of athletics, on Thursday.
"We are excited to welcome both Michael and Alvin to FAU and paradise," said Brian White
, FAU's vice president and director of athletics. "They each bring a wealth of knowledge and experience which will help us grow the fundraising arm of our athletics department."
The duo will join the efforts of Ryan Alpert
, FAU's deputy director of athletics, who came to FAU in May of 2018. Just two months later, Graffin joined the FAU staff where he will serve as the associate director of athletics for development. Graffin was most recently at Army West Point where he served as an assistant director of athletics for the A-Club. While at West Point, he helped the A-Club raise the annual fund from $2.7 million to $7.4 million.
Hines, who will serve in the role of assistant director of athletics for development, came to FAU from the University of Missouri where he worked as a director of major gifts. As a member of the Tiger Scholarship Fund, he helped set a school record of $50.4 million in support of Mizzou's 20-sport intercollegiate athletic program during the 2016-17 fiscal year, an amount that broke the previous record by nearly $5 million (which was raised in Mizzou's first year of SEC membership).
The trio, along with White, will spearhead FAU's philanthropic goals as related to the Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence as well as growing the Owl Scholarship Fund.
