BOCA RATON, Fla. –
Florida Atlantic University rising junior tight end Harrison Bryant
has been recognized as part of the 2018 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List, released Friday by The Friends of John Mackey.
The annual award is given to the nation's most outstanding collegiate tight end, and is presented as part of The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on Dec. 6, 2018. This initial list is comprised of over 60 of the best tight ends in the country.
Bryant is one of four Conference USA representatives mentioned by the organization, joining Mik'Quan Deane (WKU), Logan Scott (UAB) and Kelvin Smith (North Texas). Recently, he was selected by C-USA media as the league's preseason all-conference tight end selection.
The native of Gray, Georgia, had a breakout sophomore campaign that saw him earn a Second Team All-C-USA nod. He hauled in 32 receptions for 408 yards and five touchdowns, finishing third on the squad in the first two categories, and second in receiving scores.
Bryant and the Owls kick off the 2018 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 1, traveling to take on the University of Oklahoma in a nationally-televised game on Fox. The home opener is the following week against Air Force. For tickets to that or any other home game, visit FAUSports.com or call 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
