Miami HEAT to Hold Training Camp at FAU

Sept. 22, 2017

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Miami HEAT will hold their 2017 training camp from Tuesday, Sept. 26 through Saturday, Sept. 30 at the FAU Arena, which is located on the FAU Boca Raton campus. It is the second time in three years that FAU will host the HEAT training camp. The HEAT used FAU Arena for their training camp prior to the 2015-16 season.

“Florida Atlantic University is proud to host the three-time World Champions Miami HEAT to our campus for training camp,” said Pat Chun, FAU vice president and director of athletics. “Over the past few years, FAU has been fortunate to host some of the best organizations in sports (New England Patriots, US Soccer, ESPN) on our campus. We look forward to assisting the HEAT in their preparation for the 2017-18 season.”

The HEAT will travel to Boca Raton and will conduct two-a-day practice sessions Tuesday through Friday. They will also hold a public scrimmage at 11 a.m. on Saturday at FAU Arena, and will then return to Miami. Details about the scrimmage will be forthcoming.

All practices are closed to the general public. Media members will be credentialed through the Miami HEAT. Media availability will take place following the first session only, with a viewing time to be updated daily. A media workroom will be set up within the gym.
