BOCA RATON, Fla. - As the Florida Atlantic University football team returns to practice ahead of the Boca Raton Bowl in five days' time, running back "Motor" Devin Singletary has been named as a quarterfinalist for the FBS John W. Conlon Offensive Player of the Year Award.
The award and 12-player list, issued by The Bilo College Football Report, is "to honor the college football player on the offensive side of the football that has performed to an exemplary level on the field during the course of the football season, regardless of conference or Power Five/Group of Five designation, and has embodied what we believe to be the definition of the spirit of competition in college athletics."
Singletary is one of just four running backs nationwide to be named. The list will be pared down to semifinalists next Monday, Dec. 18, at approximately 4 p.m. EST. Finalists will be chosen on Dec. 27, and the winner announced on Jan. 2. Here is a list of the dozen players that are being considered moving forward:

- Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma
- McKenzie Milton, QB, UCF
- Drew Lock, QB, Missouri
- Rashaad Penny, RB, San Diego State
- Bryce Love, RB, Stanford
- Jonathon Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
- Devin Singletary, RB, Florida Atlantic
- James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State
- Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis
- Anthony Johnson, WR, Buffalo
- Diontae Johnson, WR, Toledo
In the midst of these announcements, Singletary and the Owls are preparing to take on the Akron Zips in the upcoming Boca Raton Bowl, presented by Cheribundi Tart Cherry. The game will be played at FAU Stadium next Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
