FAU's CJ Chatham Named C-USA Hitter of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. â€" Florida Atlantic University shortstop CJ Chatham has earned Conference USA Co-Hitter of the Week honors for his incredible performance against No. 14 Southern Miss over the weekend.

Chatham hit .588 on the week with six RBI, five runs, two doubles, a triple and a home run, slugging 1.000%. Chatham also drew two walks and was hit by a pitch for an on-base of .650. On Saturday, Chatham was a double shy of the single and went 5-for-6 with five RBI and three runs. After his first at-bat on Saturday, Chatham went (in order): 3B - run, 1B, 1B - run, HR - 3 RBI, 1B - 2 RBI. Following that on Sunday with 1b, 2B - run, 1B, lineout, HBP - run. He went 6-of-8 with the bases empty and advanced runners seven times over the weekend. The shortstop improved his season average to .391 and has 40 runs, 39 RBI, 5 HR, 4 3B, 15 2B, slugging .603 with an on-base of .461.
