Ali Gorrell Named All-Conference USA

BOCA RATON, Fla. â€" Florida Atlantic University women's basketball senior Ali Gorrell has been named Second Team All-Conference USA, as voted on by the league's head coaches and media members, the C-USA office announced Sunday.

The Evergreen, Colo. native leads the Owls (14-15, 6-12 C-USA) in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals. Gorrell averages 14.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest with 124 assists and 41 steals on the year, playing a team-high 32 minutes per game. She has posted double-digit scoring in 25 of FAU's 28 games and dished out at least four assists on 19 occasions.

The senior ranks fourth in the conference in assist to turnover ratio, fifth in assists and seventh in scoring, while ranking among the top guards in rebounding. Last week, Gorrell was named to the Conference USA All-Academic team for the second consecutive season.

Gorrell will lead the 12th-seeded Owls into the Conference USA Tournament with a Noon ET game against 13-seed North Texas on Tuesday, March 8 in Birmingham, Ala. Live audio will be available on FAUSports.com and the games will be streamed by the American Sports Network.
