SACAE Held Third Annual Career Fair

Nov. 3, 2016

BOCA RATON, Fla. -

The Florida Atlantic University Student Athlete Center for Academic Excellence worked in partnership with the FAU Career Center to host the third annual Student-Athlete Career Fair on Monday, Oct. 17.

"The FAU Student-Athlete Career Fair provided an opportunity to easily network with several businesses and find a potential post-graduation employer," said Brittney Brown, volleyball '14-'15. "If you were prepared with resumes and multiple questions, you left the career fair with more knowledge, many different business connections and contacts."

One hundred and forty student-athletes attended the event, offered to juniors and seniors. The event began with a former FAU student-athlete panel which featured a Q&A. The second portion of the event included an opportunity for the student-athletes to meet and network with 17 potential employers in a traditional career fair format.

"SACAE was really excited to partner with the FAU Career Center to host the career fair, which provided our student-athletes with the opportunity to network with employers," said Nicole Alderson, associate director and SACAE supervisor. "I was proud of our student-athletes. They came dressed professionally with copies of their resume and capitalized on this opportunity to meet and network with employers. The career fair really encourages our student-athletes to begin preparing for life after sports."
