BOCA RATON, Fla. -
Florida Atlantic University tennis player Bianca Biglione was named to the Capital One Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
A sophomore from Panama City, Fla., Biglione holds a 4.0 cumulative grade point average with a double-major in biological science and psychology. She is a two-time Conference USA Honor roll recipient and earlier this year was named to the C-USA All-Academic Team.
Biglione also earned C-USA All-Conference Second Team honors after appearing in all 17 matches for the Owls and finishing the regular season with a 13-2 singles record. Her team-leading 13 wins this season included an eight-match win streak. Biglione lost just six games in her last four wins and won four matches this season with one or less game surrendered.
The all-district teams were chosen by CoSIDA members, and this honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic performances. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot. All-America honorees will be announced in early June.
The entire list of women's and men's honorees for the eight all-district at-large teams can be found here.
