FAU Women's Tennis Beats Mercer 4-1

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic women's tennis played Mercer on Sunday in Tallahassee the first of two matches scheduled for Sunday. The win improved FAU's record to 4-3 on the season and 2-0 this weekend after beating Oakland University on Friday in Orlando.

FAU won the doubles point first with FAU sophomore Lyndsey Boos and senior Catalina Ene defeating Grace Korta and Haley Powell 8-1. FAU won in the number three position due to default. In singles FAU senior Natalia Tomaszwicz won her match by default before freshman Marisa Ruiz defeated Haley Powell 6-1, 6-2 to give the Owls their third point. FAU sophomore Bianca Biglione clinched the match for the Owls defeating Liza Klyachkin 6-3, 6-3 and improving her individual record to 5-1 on the season.

FAU will play their second match on Sunday against FAMU at the FSU indoor courts due to weather.
