Claire Emslie Named Academic All-Conference USA

Nov. 5, 2015

BOCA RATON, Fla. â€" Florida Atlantic University women's soccer senior Claire Emslie was named to the Conference USA All-Academic First Team with a 3.87 GPA in exercise science and health promotion.

This marks the third consecutive season in which Emslie has earned academic All-C-USA honors, each year the Scotland native has been eligible. Emslie has also earned All-Conference athletic honors four years in a row.

Emslie became FAU's all-time career goals scored leader on Wednesday with a second-half strike against Old Dominion in the Conference USA Tournament in Miami. Emslie's 29 career goals breaks a 21-year-old mark set by Kelly McGrath in 1994. Emslie also owns the career shots record and the single-season shots record, starting 73 of the 76 matches in which she played over the last four years. Her ten game-winning goals rank second all-time, as do her 69 career points.

Emslie helped lead FAU to its best season since 2005 and earned the Owls a No. 3 seed in the C-USA Tournament, their best record in their three seasons in C-USA.
