Florida Atlantic University swimmer Matthieu Burtez and diver Ryan McIntire sweep the CCSA swimmer and diver of the week honors for their strong performances in the meets against Florida Tech and Texas A&M this past weekend.
Burtez led the Owls to a 119-86 win on Friday night against Florida Institute of Technology by taking 2 individual events as well as leading off the winning 200 Free Relay. With the meet close early, Burtez led a 1-2-3 for the Owls in the 50 Free, then came back after the first break to take the 100 Free. On Saturday, against Big 12 power Texas A&M Burtez took a strong second in the 500 Free and helped the team swim well in the loss.
McIntire picked up the Owls only individual win, taking the 3 meter against Texas A&M on Saturday. In addition, he also grabbed a second on the 1 Meter to complete a strong day. This was McIntire's strongest meet this season, as he went toe to toe with A&M's talented divers.
The men and women will both compete against Florida Tech on Friday, Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. in Melbourne, Fla.
