The Florida Atlantic University baseball team dropped a pair of games in its Conference USA opening series last weekend at UTSA before shutting out the Roadrunners 3-0 on Saturday. Junior Drew Jackson dealt six innings of shutout baseball, allowing only four hits and one walk. Senior Kevin Alexander earned his fourth save of the season as he took over for the final two innings. Andrew Archer also aided in the three-pitcher shutout. Sophomore Brendon Sanger reached safely in all five of his plate appearances in the Saturday afternoon game and redshirt freshman Esteban Puerta hit his first home run of the season on Friday night, a two-run shot to left field.
Series History: FAU is 7-3 all-time against Maine and won the last battle 15-3 in Boca Raton on March 13, 2013.
