BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University's Head Football Coach Charlie Partridgeintroduced the 24-member 2014 class, his first as the Owls' head coach, today at FAU Stadium.
"We are excited with the makeup of the 15th class in FAU's football program's history. We are proud to have 23 of the 24 from the Sunshine State," said Partridge. "We worked hard to address the needs of the football program positionally, and this is a group that highlights the hard work and effort of our entire coaching staff, support staff and the faculty."
The class is comprised of 23 players from the state of Florida, including 15 from south of the I-4 corridor. FAU also welcomed four players who joined the squad in January and nine who maintained higher than a 3.0 G.P.A., including one with a 4.5 G.P.A. The team will add 12 members, all who have played in an all-star game; two who have won a state title and 10 who have family members that have played in college and or professionally.
FAU will begin spring practice on Wednesday, March 12 and will conclude the season with the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 5 at 1 p.m. at FAU Stadium. The Owls will open the 2014 season on Saturday, Aug. 30 in Lincoln, Neb. versus the University of Nebraska.
