Here are Ten Things You Need To Know About the FAU vs. UAB football game this Saturday, November 1:
1. It's the 2014 Homecoming game and kickoff is at 7 p.m. The game can be heard on the radio at ESPN 106.3 and on our website at www.fausports.com.
2. Tailgate lots open at 2:30 p.m., to give fans plenty of time to get ready to see the Homecoming Parade which begins at 3:30 p.m. Come out early and enjoy more than 60 groups as they march through campus celebrating FAU pride! The parade will begin near Volusia Street on west University Drive and will pass the stadium to FAU Boulevard!
2. 3. FAU Athletics is welcoming back alumni for the 2014 Homecoming game with a special ticket offer. Alumni may purchase Hootville tickets for themselves and their guests for just ten dollars - advanced sales only. Please call 1-866-fau-owls to get your tickets today!
4. Corporate Village, located just west of Gate 1, will be up and running by 4 p.m. The area includes fun for all ages with inflatables for the kids and displays from our Corporate Sponsors.
5. The Owl Walk will occur at around 4:40 p.m. Join the FAU Cheerleaders and band in welcoming the Owls as they arrive to FAU stadium and enter the gates. The Owl Walk will take place in the Rat's Mouth at the corner of FAU Blvd and N. University Drive.
6. Courtesy shuttles will run continuously from the parking garages to the stadium beginning at 5 p.m. until 1 hour after the conclusion of the game. The shuttles will drop off at N. University Drive and FAU Blvd.
7. We will welcome high school and elementary students from Broward County! For more information about the college expo, At Home At FAU, go to FAU.edu.
8. After a few hours of tailgating, why not enjoy the entertainment of the Delray Hyundai Deck where you can purchase beer and mixed drinks at a Tike Bar. Beer will be sold throughout the stadium as well.
9. The FAU Athletics Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is teaming up with Boca Helping Hands to aid our community and they need your help! Please bring a non-perishable food item to Saturday's game or donate online on our website, fausports.com.
And finally, Number 10: Make sure you wear your RED and your BLUE to the game and get into the stadium early so you can see the fantastic team entrance! We will also introduce the 2014 Homecoming Court, announce this year's King and Queen and the winners of the Homecoming office decorating and student organization banner contests at halftime.
