Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team will close out its non-conference season with a home match against UAB on Sunday, September 16, at 11 a.m. at the FAU Soccer Stadium, 777 Glades Road on the Boca Raton campus. This will be the first home match for the Owls since the season opener on Friday, August 17.
FAU, 1-5 on the season, is seeking to end a three-match losing streak. The latest setback was a 5-2 loss at Stetson University on September 8.
Freshman forward Taylor Sorrels leads the team with two goals, and she has found the back of the net in the last two matches. Junior forward Brittney Nash and freshman midfielder Claire Emslie are tied for team high honors with two assists.
UAB is 0-6 on the season and will play at Stetson on Friday, September 14, to begin its trip to the Sunshine State. Sunday's match will mark the first match in program history between the two schools. The Blazers have played a competitive fall schedule, facing Alabama, Mississippi State and Mississippi of the Southeastern Conference along with Oregon and Oregon State of the Pac-12 Conference. Those quality opponents have limited the team to just four goals in six matches this season.

The Owls will begin Sun Belt Conference play with a two-match road trip to Alabama next weekend. They will battle Troy University on Friday, September 21 before facing the University of South Alabama on Sunday, September 23.
