Nick DelGuidice Selected to College Baseball360.com National Honor Roll

May 3, 2011

Boca Raton, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University senior shortstop Nick DelGuidice has earned national honors, being selected to College Baseball360.com's Primetime Performers Honor Roll for his performances in helping the Owls to a series victory over Troy University last weekend.

The honor comes a day after DelGuidice was selected the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week. It is also marks the second time that the Miami native has earned national recognition. DelGuidice received similar honors last season following a nine RBI performance against Boston College.

DelGuidice had clutch hits throughout the Owls' series victory over No. 30-ranked Troy. He drove in six runs, tallied six hits and had a .500 batting average in the three games. He scored three runs and tied a school record with his 55th career double during the opening game of the series. DelGuidice had a two-run single to fuel FAU's 15-9 win over the Trojans in the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader. Then, he connected on his second career grand slam in Sunday's 7-1 victory.

On the season, DelGuidice leads the team with 35 RBIs and stands second on the team with a .352 batting average. He has recorded 17 doubles and scored 25 runs.

DelGuidice's efforts helped pull the team pull within two games of the first-place Trojans and into a three-way tie for second place in the Sun Belt Conference with a 13-8 record. Overall, FAU stands 26-17 for the season.

Florida Atlantic was named honorable mention Team of the Week by College Baseball Insider.com on Tuesday after winning last weekend series against Troy.

The Owls will travel to Western Kentucky University for a three-game series, beginning on Friday, May 6, at 7 p.m.
