BOCA RATON, FL (October 3, 2011) - Former American Idol contestant and current Boca Raton resident Brett Loewenstern will perform on October 15, just prior to kick off of the first game in the new on-campus football stadium, when the Florida Atlantic University football team hosts Western Kentucky.
Loewenstern, currently a senior attending Spanish River High School, was one of more than 110,000 people nationwide to audition for American Idol, and was one of the final 24 contestants before being eliminated in the semifinal round.
Since being off the show, Loewenstern has performed at many charitable events which included the JDRF Walk for the Cure of Juvenile Diabetes at Mizner Park, Israel Under the Stars at The Sunset Cove Ampitheatre, Sun Life Stadium for National Heritage Day, The Dori Slossberg Foundation event honoring Law Enforcement Officials, at the Kravis center for the National Campaign to stop Violence and the Maccabi Games and Arts Festival in Israel just to name a few.
The on-campus stadium is the centerpiece of FAU's Innovation Village, located in the north central area of campus. A $70-million project, it is slated to feature 6,000 premium seats, including 24 suites, 26 loge boxes, 1,000 premier club seats and 4,000 priority club seats, and the latest, state-of-the art amenities.
