Football Dodged the Rain for a Full Workout

Aug. 29, 2010

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team began pre-practice meetings under a heavy cloud and a big rain storm. One hour later they took to the field at the FAU Track Complex and got in a full workout, with no rain.

"I wanted to get in a practice in on the turf, one under the lights and a shortened one," said Howard Schnellenberger, FAU's head football coach. "We worked on the turf and kept it short. The players responded. We will practice under the lights Monday beginning at 7 p.m."

The Owls concentrated on scout team work through much of practice. "The injured are slowly getting healed. The players are handling assignments and are improving working as one," added Schnellenberger.

FAU football will return to the FAU Track Complex for a rare night practice. Players will be on the field 7 p.m. Monday night. All practices are free and open to the public.

Season tickets as well as single-game tickets are on sale and can be purchased on line or by calling 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
