FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Alfred Morris and Willie Floyd each scored rushing touchdowns to lead Florida Atlantic over Florida International 21-9 on Saturday.

Lester Jean also caught a touchdown pass from Jeff Van Camp as the Owls (2-5, 1-3 Sun Belt Conference) snapped a five-game losing streak. Van Camp completed 19 of 27 for 169 yards.

FIU (2-5, 2-1) lost for the first time in three games and was held without a touchdown for the first time this season. Wesley Carroll was 20 for 32 for 210 yards, but threw three interceptions.

A 26-yard field goal by Jack Griffin gave FIU a 9-7 lead in the third. The Owls scored on their next possession on a 16-yard touchdown run by Morris that gave them a 14-9 lead.

The Golden Panthers had a chance to take the lead early in the fourth quarter, but Florida Atlantic stopped them on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line.

The Owls defense continues to shine. FAU is ranked no. 1 among Sun Belt Conference teams in red zone defense and proved why with FIU knocking at the door at first and goal but denied.
