Why I chose FAU: "I chose FAU knowing that Florida is the best place to train. The weather helps a lot. Florida is known as one of the strongest, if not the strongest, place in the world for tennis."

As a freshman ('07-'08): Challenged the team's all-time season record holder for wins in a season to split time at no. 1 and no. 2...ended the year 22-8 overall and 16-4 in dual matches...was undefeated against Sun Belt competition...was 2-1 against ranked opponents, 6-2 at no. 1 and 10-2 at no. 2...posted a 10-5 doubles record playing with two partners...opened his collegiate career with a victory over an FSU individual who was ranked no. 70...followed it up in January with another top-100 victory against Miami...was 2-1 on the year against ranked opponents.

High School: Played for Paschal Coutrois at Academie Nouvel Courtois in France...held an ITF ranking of 133 and an ATP ranking of 1377.

Tennis: Academy Hauts de Nimes Syrian team.

Personal: Business major...son of Rene Abdelnour and Lamia Khayat...born Aug. 11, 1988 in Montreal, Canada.
