Florida Atlantic Men's Soccer Completes Spring Season

March 22, 2008

BOCA RATON, FL - Two Major League Soccer (MLS) teams, three international clubs and a pair of local college programs were part of Florida Atlantic's 2008 men's soccer schedule this spring. Under the direction of 2007 Atlantic Soccer Conference Coach of the Year Kos Donev, the Owls are preparing to defend its ASC championship next fall. Donev returns three ASC First Team Players from a year ago, including midfielder Liam Ogle, defender Guilherme Ribeiro and forward Shire Standnes.

"We have had a very positive spring season," commented Donev. "Playing against the MLS teams and facing some local college teams presented some good challenges to our squad. Our guys really stepped up to those challenges, showing marked improvement as a team."
