Football Plays Final Spring Scrimmage

BOCA RATON, FL -

The Florida Atlantic University football team completed its third and final spring intrasquad scrimmage Saturday at the Tom Oxley Practice Fields in Boca Raton. In all, the offense defeated the defense 52-25 in a modified scoring system.

The team took part in 23 series and 120 plays. The offense jumped out to a 19-10 halftime lead behind touchdown runs by Daniel Frith and Dekolan James and a touchdown reception by Justin Thomas. The team spent the final 29 plays of the scrimmage working on its two-minute offense.

Garrett Jahn played in 13 series at quarterback and went 24-37 for 236 yards and a touchdown. Jarred Allen played the other 10 series behind center, going 17-30 for 245 yards and three touchdowns.

Doug Parker led the rushing attack with 53 yards on 12 carries and a seven-yard score. Frith had 44 yards on 16 carries and a one-yard touchdown run. Dekolan James chipped in 42 yards on 11 carries with a the seven-yard first half sore.

In the air, 14 different Owls caught at least one pass with Ben Coker and Doug Parker hauling in a team-high five receptions. Thomas Parker led FAU with 64 yards receiving on four catches. James, Eric Harper, and Richard Spencer also had touchdown receptions.
